If you purchase a new home, always re-key the locks. Chance are that the previous owner never really had all of the keys to begin with.

Yes, even though the odds are against someone finding out where you live, chances are that you may have pertinent information on your key rings such as portable credit cards or library cards that have personal information.

How can I protect my home from intruders?

Keep all of your doors and windows closed and locked and secure all entry doors with a 1" deadbolt. Trim shrubs away from entry doors so that the door can been seen from street level.

How can I make my home secure when I'm on vacation?

If you are going on vacation, have a neighbor or family member pick up mail and newspapers. Install light timers for indoor and outdoor lighting.

Maintain key control. Always know how many keys you have to your location and who is in possession of them. Frequently inspect the locks in your business, making sure that they turn properly and are not loose or jimmied.
